Creating a string orchestra template

In Sibelius I created a string orchestra score that I saved away as a template, this way I have an empty score ready every time I start a new string arrangement or studying the examples from the “From Piano to Strings” book. If you decide to use NotePerformer as well, you have to take care of the following:

Set all the volume sliders in the Sibelius mixer panel to the same volume by double clicking on every slider separately. This will set them to 95:

Because NotePerformer does its own interpretation of the score by reading phrases ahead of time, go to the Play tab and be sure that Live Tempo and Live Playback are turned off:Screen Shot 2015-11-01 at 14.31.05

Go into the Performance screen by clicking the Performance button in the Play tab and choose the settings as shown in the Screenshot below (you can choose a lower reverb but the “Use reverb” box must be check for NotePerformer’s reverb to work):
